Today, I ordered my first ever plants, which are 3 Hawaiian Ti plants, each approximately 40cm tall, apparently.
In Hawai‘i, they’re known as Kī, and are historically revered as symbols of spiritual protection, life, and connection to the earth. They are used in ceremonies, as barriers for sacred spaces (leis for hula altars, protection around homes), and even in traditional medicine.
This will be my first time caring for plants, and my first time doing any gardening work, actually. I plan on putting them in an unused fish tank. I hope these three plants make it through the cold UK winters, which they should, so long as I keep them indoors during the winter season.
