AEW Double or Nothing 2026 is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews from spectators, with a super-high average user score of 9.72 for the PPV as a whole. Okada vs Takeshita is riding high with a 9.54 average user score. In the main event, that bump Darby took when he dived through the ropes was dope. I hope he (Darby) is OK. I think it was a mistake for AEW to have Darby drop the belt so soon. I would have liked for Darby to have held onto the belt for a whole year, as his matches are just so fun to watch, and I think he would bring lots of eyeballs onto AEW as the AEW World Champ, crazy bumps and all. I also think it was a bad idea for Darby to be wrestling twice a week since he won the title, brave as it was. I think he should have only been allowed to wrestle about twice a month, so he would not have been so (presumably) beaten up going into each match.
As a very random note, why the fuck don’t AEW give Sammy Guevara a singles match on all of their PPVs (I realize Sammy was not on this PPV). Sammy has been one of the most exciting pro-wrestlers in the world since, at the latest, when AEW formed about 8.5 years ago, so why Sammy has seldom gotten onto AEW PPVs is baffling to me. A very under-utilized talent by AEW.
