I think MJF will cane Dewey on a Buy-In pre-show PPV segment; Foley subsequently costs MJF his World title against Kenny Omega; then at All In, we get Mick Foley’s retirement match against MJF in a street fight!

Let’s look at a few facts:

  • MJF attacked Mick Foley on the Buy-In segment of AEW Double or Nothing, hitting him with a low-blow after verbally goading him.
  • In the past MJF has expressed interest in wrestling Mick Foley.
  • Foley has, on his YouTube podcast series, expressed interest in having one last match.
  • In late 2025, During his UK tour, Mick Foley revealed that there had been plans to have a six-week program with MJF; also revealing that MJF had pitched to take ‘Cane Dewey’ to a whole new level by literally CANING Mick’s son Dewey on live TV.  These plans were later scrapped.
  • Sean Ross-Sapp, in his post-event review of this month’s Double or Nothing PPV, stated that he thinks that a Foley vs MJF match will happen.  I believe that Ross-Sapp has a lot of connections in the pro-wrestling industry.

Here’s what I think is going to happen: on the Buy-In pre-show of either Forbidden Door, on June 28, or at AEW Redemption, on July 26, Foley will be joined by his son Dewey whilst discussing the PPV with Renee Pacquette – when MJF makes a sudden, impromptu appearance and attacks Mick and Dewey with a singapore cane.  Mick subsequently attacks MJF during MJF’s World Championship match with Kenny Omega, costing MJF the belt (this allows the All In main event, Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay, to be a World title match).  Then, at All In, on August 30, we get Mick Foley vs MJF in Foley’s official retirement match, which will have some kind of ‘street-fight’ stipulation.  In this (lopsided) match, Foley beats the shit out of MJF with weapons for about 15 minutes, and gets the win.  Foley, with one arm raised, stands over MJF, who in laying on a stretcher , strapped down, (just like MJF has done with Hangman Adam Page and Derby Allin on recent PPVs).  I realize that these are not very brave predictions, as they might be somewhat obvious and stuff, but, when I put 2-and-2 together, and connect the dots, this is what I think Tony Khan and his creative team have planned for the next 3 months with regards to Mick.
