Final Fantasy VII: Revelation

SGF ended with a bang! Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is official and has its debut trailer. The game itself is titled Final Fantasy VII: Revelation. Director Naoki Hamaguchi took the stage to state that Revelation is launching simultaneously on all platforms, confirming a release on Xbox Series X and S and Nintendo Switch 2 day-one alongside PC and PlayStation 5. The voice of Vincent Valentine, Matt Mercer, also appeared to introduce new gameplay. It arrives spring 2027! Here is the official blurb from Square Enix:
In this climactic conclusion, Cloud Strife and his loyal companions face a world on the edge of annihilation. Grieving a beloved ally, and with their nemesis Sephiroth nearing godhood, the party takes to the skies aboard the airship Highwind in a race against time to stop Meteor, the ultimate destructive magic, and the total destruction of the planet.
With deft gunslinger Vincent Valentine and cantankerous pilot Cid Highwind aboard, the heroic team will journey freely across the entire planet and explore expansive new areas, harness a new job system in combat and forge unbreakable bonds to overcome the greatest threat they’ve ever faced.

Street Fighter 6: Year 4 DLC characters

Yasmine, Arjun, Bosch, and Tifa! Street Fighter 6 is receiving four new DLC characters in Year 4, with Tifa from Final Fantasy 7 serving as the headline addition.

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain

We knew Stellar Blade 2 was coming, but we did not expect a debut trailer at SGF. Shift Up’s sequel, subtitled Blood Rain, continues the events following the story of the first game, and features a new protagonist.

The Wolf Among Us 2

The Wolf Among Us 2 is alive! It is out in 2027. Meanwhile, The Wolf Among Us Remastered arrives holiday 2026. We have a major interview with the Telltale CEO, who explained why The Wolf Among Us 2 has taken so long.

Attack on Titan 3

Koei Tecmo America and developer Omega Force announced Attack on Titan 3. The new action game is based on the popular anime and manga series created by Hajime Isayama, and lets A.O.T. enthusiasts play through the entire storyline for the first time. The reveal trailer is below. Attack on Titan 3 is currently in development for the PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC Windows via Steam.

Clutch

Clutch is the new open-world racing game from former developers of the Forza Horizon series. At SGF we saw a story trailer showing off some of the characters. It’s due out spring 2027.

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush

Hot Wheels is going open world! Revealed at Summer Game Fest alongside a debut trailer, Infinite Rush is due out on September 24, 2026 priced at $49.99 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch 2. Yes, that’s another September game to add to the list this year. Infinite Rush is developed by Milestone, the creators of the two Hot Wheels Unleashed games.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance

Monster Hunter Wilds is getting an expansion titled Ascendance. It is due out sometime in 2027 across PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. “Soar into a land above, wield new abilities, and hunt legendary monsters in Master Rank!” Capcom stated. “Prepare for Elder Dragons.”

Among Us Story: On Guard

Innersloth announced Among Us Story: On Guard, a new standalone Among Us game. It’s a brand-new narrative-driven single-player experience set within the Among Us universe. Players enter a controlled simulation at MIRA R&D as part of the new Crewmate training program, taking on the role of Guard, the ship’s security officer responsible for keeping order and ensuring the crew reaches its destination safely. When a shocking murder occurs on the vessel, the mission quickly turns to chaos, forcing Guard to investigate the incident while under growing suspicion themselves. Among Us Story: On Guard is planned for release on PC and Nintendo Switch, and is available now for pre-order on Steam.
Not only that, but the Among Us animated series just shadow-dropped on Paramount+, where all 10 episodes are now available to stream. The announcement was made on stage by series star Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

This truly impressive looking vampire game, from some of the developers of The Witcher 3, has a new trailer.

Star Wars: Zero Company

As expected, Star Wars: Zero Company saw its debut trailer revealed at SGF. This X-COM-style Star Wars game is a turn-based strategy title. The trailer confirmed Anakin Skywalker is in the game! It is due out August 27.

Lords of the Fallen 2

Lords of the Fallen 2 is also coming to Steam this fall, CI Games announced. The platform reveal trailer is below.

Saw: Genesis

Saw: Genesis is a 3v1 multiplayer game based on the Saw horror film franchise. It is in development at Silent Hill 2 remake studio Bloober Team, alongside its co-development label Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios. Saw: Genesis is described as a “twisted new asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience set within the iconic Saw universe.”.Utilizing Bloober’s expertise in psychological horror, the game combines procedurally generated maps with tense, choice-based gameplay that expands the Saw universe while keeping its signature intensity. An early access launch is scheduled for this fall.

1666 Amsterdam

1666 Amsterdam is the upcoming title from Patrice Desilets, one of the original creators of Assassin’s Creed. He appeared at SGF to announce that the prologue is available for free download on Steam and the Epic Games Store. 1666: Amsterdam is a dark, third-person, story-driven action-adventure game, with the full release arriving in early access on PC this year. Console versions are planned for a later time.

Mafia: The Old Country expansion, Man of Honor

Mafia: The Old Country is receiving an expansion, and it is arriving soon! Man of Honor includes two new story chapters and exclusive Free Ride content. It is slated for release on August 14, 2026.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds has a new trailer confirming a September 15 release date and a launch on Xbox Series X and S (it was previously confirmed for PlayStation 5 and PC). This marks the first time the RuneScape IP has moved to consoles in its history.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads

RGG Studio presented the new Virtua Fighter at SGF, confirming the title: Virtua Fighter Crossroads! The trailer hinted at a deep and gritty story mode, which appears to center on the Chinese mafia. It is expected in 2027.

Guild Wars 3

Guild Wars 3! That is a massive reveal from ArenaNet. It is set to release on PC and PS5 (no mention was made of Xbox Series X and S). The initial beta test is planned for the fall of 2027.

CrossFire

Former Call of Duty developers revealed a new single-player, story-driven CrossFire game, supported by Smilegate. It features dynamic cover, which “fundamentally changes your relationship with the environment, and becomes an active skill you need to master.” This was quite a surprise!

Gundam: Rogue Orbit

Bandai Namco announced Gundam: Rogue Orbit with a vibrant teaser trailer! It is a fast-paced, high-mobility action game that introduces a brand-new timeline in the Gundam saga, “where humanity must fight for survival against an unknown threat.” It is due out in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
In Gundam: Rogue Orbit, players will suit up as the ace pilot RE-X, the protagonist of this new Gundam chapter. Enter the cockpit of Gundam Helix, RE-X’s high-mobility suit, so that he and a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers can fight to be humanity’s last hope for survival against this unknown enemy. Gundam: Rogue Orbit will feature explosive, fast-paced battles within sprawling environments, where players face enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges against an engaging Sci-Fi backdrop. For Gundam fans, the title aims to provide the emotionally charged moments and unforgettable action that have made the series one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises while also introducing a thrilling new direction for Gundam.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

PlatinumGames, the developer of Bayonetta, Nier: Automata, and Ninja Gaiden 4, is working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin! This is a significant reveal. While the teaser did not show much, this feels like a perfect match. We have an interview with Paramount Games, which just announced a brand-new game studio, providing more information on what to expect.

Haex

Haex is a new game from several developers behind The Division. The trailer features many impressive sci-fi elements, even if I am not entirely sure what was happening. Expect a release in 2027.

Stranger Than Heaven

Yakuza developer RGG Studio debuted a new trailer for its next game, Stranger Than Heaven, during perhaps the most random moment at SGF: confirming that Tupac is in the game. Yes, Tupac Shakur. We also finally have a release date: January 15, 2027. Snoop Dogg, who is also featured in the game, came on-stage to discuss Tupac’s surprise appearance in Stranger Than Heaven. Additionally, Snoop mentioned that Death Row Games is still active, and we will hear more about its projects soon.

Blood Message

NetEase brought Blood Message to SGF. Watch the debut trailer below. It is a cinematic, narrative-driven linear action-adventure currently in development for PC and consoles. Set during the late Tang Dynasty in 848 AD, players take on the role of a nameless messenger who begins a dangerous eastward journey to deliver a message that decides the fate of his homeland. The game’s setting in the final years of the Tang Dynasty provides a cultural landmark of Chinese history that frames the story with the customs, culture, and rich history of the era, NetEase stated.

gen Atlas

Fumito Ueda has returned! The creator of masterpieces like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is developing a sci-fi game. This time, there are massive robots to climb. It looks fantastic and emotional, as expected from Ueda.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly appeared at SGF to present a new trailer for Alien: Isolation 2, which looks truly terrifying. Creative director Al Hope took the stage to say the developers are making a game focused on escaping the clutches of a xenomorph. The action is set on a station on a planet now, so you are not restricted to a spaceship. Regardless… it’s scary stuff!

Cuphead sequel and Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Studio MDHR announced a Cuphead sequel! It is still in the early stages, so details are limited, but we did learn that a small team at the studio is working on something entirely different, and we received a brief look at it: Mighty Cuphead Adventure! It is a new retro action-platformer shooter in an 8-bit style.

Resident Evil: Veronica

The first announcement at SGF is Resident Evil: Veronica, a remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. It is due to arrive in 2027! This title had been heavily rumored, but it is great to finally see it officially revealed.
